DISCOVERY:
The Biotech tropicana Systems, a private For Profit Biotech Company based in Kandi, Benin Republic, African Union is pleased to announce a discovery in environmental biotechnology, of great importance to the development of the resource poor communities: SMARTcompostTECHS version DWS (domestic waste compost).
SMARTcompostTECHS-BTS-PP:
The SMARTcompostTECHS-BTS-PP is a Biotech tropicana Systems owned proprietary protocol (PP) designed for composting organic materials. We previously applied a version of the protocol to develop a green savage herb based compost: The Kandi Compost. Here, we applied a modified version of the PP protocol called SMARTcompostTECHS-BTS-PPdwc.
ECONOMIC IMPACT: From burden to Wealth:
Domestic waste management is a serious burden on the budget of many resource poor communities. Resource for material purchase and expertise for waste recycling are scare in developing countries. Our SMARTcompostTECHS-BTS-PP protocol is designed to not only reduce operational cost in domestic waste in the resource poor communities, but also to recycle the waste in goods and services by creating new wealth and new jobs. Here we apply scientific knowledge to transform a community management burden into wealth.
PROOF OF CONCEPT:
Work in the Biotech tropicana Systems is guided by the new millennium global development concept as described in the United Nations millennium development goals and the United States millennium challenge corporation. By 2005, a group of scientists and global development experts initiated by the UN general secretary completed its three years research investigations on strategies to achieve the millennium development goals. The concept of science for development became the guideline for development programs in developing countries. The United States millennium challenge corporation aim to reduce poverty by empowering the private sector for the creation of new wealth. Our SMARTcompostTECHSdws demonstrate both the application of scientific methods to address a development challenge in developing countries, while developing a new product that is marketable through the private sector.
